CHANEL Métiers d’Art might be one of CHANEL’s most important collections. Because the collection itself becomes an annual presentation honoring the fine craftsmanship that its artisan partners bring to the house’s collections. Moreover, the presentation takes place outside the traditional fashion schedule. Each year, Chanel turns to a different location to pay tribute to the workshops that provide the house with everything from lace to silver buttons and fine embroidery work.

Hence, when talking about CHANEL Métiers d’Art, one is guaranteed to see and enjoy meticulous and precious handcrafted details that make CHANEL famous.  As written by Christie’s, Métiers d’Art creations are considered demi-couture, right between ready-to-wear and haute couture; although the designs are not bespoke, their ornamentation and craftsmanship rely on couture techniques.

And recently, the CHANEL Métiers d’Art 2020/21 landed in-store in Jakarta and few selected digital creators and public figures were invited to experience and wear the looks first hand. This year’s CHANEL Métiers d’Art 2020/21 was shown at the Château de Chenonceau, at the “Château des Dames”, and showing a mix of influences from different eras. Between the Renaissance and romanticism, between rock and something very girly, it is all very Chanel,” said Virginie Viard.
