For the Fall/Winter 2026–27 season, FENDI introduces a campaign that reflects on one of humanity’s most enduring paradoxes: the longing to connect with others while recognising that true intimacy can never be fully attained. Marking Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first campaign for the House, the imagery is captured through the distinctive lens of renowned American photographer Jo Ann Callis.

Rather than presenting fashion through conventional portraiture, the campaign unfolds as an emotional narrative. Every frame exists as a suspended moment within a larger story, where subtle gestures, body language, and carefully considered distances between figures become expressions of connection, vulnerability, and quiet restraint.

At the heart of the collection is Chiuri’s vision of a shared wardrobe. Womenswear and menswear are designed in dialogue with one another, blurring traditional boundaries while celebrating both their similarities and differences. Mirrored silhouettes and shared tailoring create a sense of harmony, yet each look retains its own distinct character. In this interplay, familiar ideas of masculinity and femininity are redefined, revealing how clothing can simultaneously soften, strengthen, and transform identity.

Callis approaches the campaign with the sensitivity of a storyteller. Beginning with sketches that explored gestures and relationships, she builds a visual language where movement conveys emotions left unspoken. Inspired by the work of legendary choreographer Pina Bausch, the campaign examines how physical proximity can express emotional tension, illustrating the delicate balance between closeness and distance.

The setting further deepens the narrative. Rome, the birthplace of FENDI, becomes more than a backdrop, it is an integral character within the campaign. Historic interiors, timeless architecture, and traces of the city’s layered past echo the emotional complexity explored throughout the collection. Soft drapery, sculptural lighting, and richly textured surroundings interact with the House’s craftsmanship to create a cinematic atmosphere that feels suspended between reality and memory.

This dreamlike environment reflects the enduring dialogue between heritage and modernity that defines FENDI today. Every garment and accessory becomes part of a carefully constructed world where personal expression unfolds through subtle interactions rather than overt statements.

With the Fall/Winter 2026–27 campaign, FENDI presents more than a seasonal collection. It offers an intimate meditation on human relationships, exploring the spaces between connection and separation through fashion, movement, and storytelling. Under Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creative direction and Jo Ann Callis’ evocative photography, the campaign captures the quiet beauty of what it means to seek closeness while embracing the mystery that remains between us.
